Festival Co-ordinator and Social Media Manager for the Rose of Tralee International Festival

Rebecca Kemp

Rebecca works as Festival Co-ordinator and Social Media Manager for the Rose of Tralee International Festival, where she has been working as part of the management team for the past 13 years. She is responsible for the Festival’s social media output and website (www.roseoftralee.ie), during which time Rose of Tralee has won industry gold award for Best Use of Social Media at the 2015 Accenture Digital Media Awards, has been awarded the Rabo Tweetie Most Popular TV Programme, and Best Social Media Marketing by the Association of Irish Festivals and Events. She is also responsible for Festival administration and internal communication with stakeholders.

In addition to working for the Rose of Tralee, Rebecca provides social media consultation to local businesses.

She previously worked for NTL (cable communications) in the UK, in the broadcast division where she managed the local community channel. She also worked on the early development of their video on demand products and services.

Rebecca has achieved recognition for her creative writing, and is a published novelist. Her work has featured in online journals and anthologies, including RTE’s 100 Words 100 Books, the Short Fiction Journal, Brilliant Flash Fiction and In Litro Magazine. She won the augural Kerry’s Eye Short Story Competition, and was the only writer in Ireland to take part in the 2014 Twitter Fiction Festival with her story told in diminishing Tweets from 140 characters to 1.

Rebecca was born in London but is very happy, particularly after the recent UK referendum, to have been living in Tralee for the past 13 years.
